Feng Shui Fame and Reputation
Are you wondering where someone got that horrible impression or idea that you are something that you are not? How do you shake off an erroneous “bad reputation?”
Employing feng shui can be a big help if you know how to work it. Feng shui is a method of mindfully arranging your environment so that it supports you – and from the looks of it, yours isn’t in the respect department.
I would suggest looking in the centre back area of each room in your home, as well as the centre back area of the entire house to see if there is something amiss that has you being seen as not upstanding, or “not in a good light.” The centre back area is found from when you enter the door. Just stand in the threshold and look into the room or the house and notice what is in the centre back one third as if you divided your room or house into a big tic tac toe board.
Feng shui principles suggest that this part of the house gives you (among other things) the energy for a good reputation. So, check it out and see what you have.
Here are some things that support a good reputation:
- Fiery things like candles, a fireplace, or things that have the sun or stars on them.
- Reds or very warm colours like red or burnt orange, etc.
- Pointy-shaped items like a “mother-in-law’s tongue” plant or a big vase of gladiolas for example.
- Things that show you in a good light, like your diplomas, certificates of completion, trophies, awards, etc.
Here are some things that work against you and your reputation:
- Watery things like an aquarium, or a bathroom or kitchen sink, or things that have fish in them or art that has water in it.
- Black and very very dark colours.
- Wavy or free-form shaped items.
- Glass and crystal.
- Things that show you in a poor light like drug paraphernalia, clutter, dirty or broken items, unpaid bills, traffic tickets, symbols or items of cruelty or abuse, etc.
A little change-up using these lists as a guide may be all that is needed. While you are making the shifts, think about how you want to be respected and seen in the future.
The Fame and Reputation gua is located in the central-rear portion of your home or office. By placing specific enhancements here, you can improve how people perceive you. This area is about power as well. Notice how the king, judge, priest, minister, teacher, speaker, or political leader claims this part of the room? It’s no coincidence. This is the spot that can make or break your perceived power.
Some situations when you would enhance the Fame and Reputation gua are:
- When you want to have a good reputation or improve on the reputation you already have.
- When you need to summon the courage to do something.
- When you want to be more respected by people or one specific person.
- When you want to become well known for something.
- When you want to get the credit you deserve.
Take a look at your fame and reputation gua and remove any items that symbolize something you are not, or something you don’t want to be known for. Then go ahead and add something that makes you proud to be associated with it. For example, if you have a diploma or any awards, place them here. I once did a consultation at a man’s office who complained that no one ever took him seriously. When I went to see what was “supporting” him behind his chair at his office, I found a big painting of a sad clown. So, every client who came to his office to do business with him saw this big, sad clown hanging right behind him and immediately associated him with this picture. And he wondered why no one took him seriously and he was not happy? Now, getting back to the king and priest example for a minute, aren’t they usually sitting in a chair that has a very high chair back? Sometimes it is higher than their head. This is another way to garner the power spot – make sure you have support behind you in the way of a solid wall or high-backed chair. And let’s not forget about using the right elements and colours in this gua. A little red can go a long way. With the best element being fire, a simple addition of a candle can be added and no one would be the wiser that it is there to help you. By using a few simple tips like these, you can make big changes in firing up your fame and reputation!
